About Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)

Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) at Swaminarayan University is a professionally structured program aimed at providing overall health services to competent nurses. It covers basic and advanced concepts in medical nursing, midwife, social health and mental health nursing.

The program emphasizes extensive clinical risk through practical training in associated hospitals, primary health stations and health programs for society. Program Duration

The GNM Nursing Diploma is a three-year full-time program, divided into six semesters, in accordance with Indian Nursing Council (INC) guidelines. It includes comprehensive theory instruction, clinical rotations in various specialties, and an internship during the final phase 

Curriculum

Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) span 2 years and may include a project or internship in the final year. Program structure is as follows.

Eligibility

1.  Passed 10+2 in Science or Arts stream with a minimum of 40% aggregate marks (35% for SC/ST/OBC categories).

2. Age limit: 17 to 35 years at the time of admission.

3. Must be medically fit with a valid health fitness certificate.

4.  Preference given to candidates with Biology or Health Science background


a)  Good communication skills and aptitude for nursing care are essential.

b)  Students from rural or underserved regions are encouraged to apply.
